Let the Countdown Begin!

My Birthday is officially less than 1 week away. To be exact the day of my birthday is 5 days and 14 hours away. I love my Birthday. I love everyone's birthdays. It is a day that should be celebrated and glorified. Not with expensive gifts or fancy pants dinners but with friends and fun. Your birthday is the ONE* day a year that is all your own, a day to celebrate yourself and all of your accomplishments. I refuse to get upset about aging, we are humans and shit happens. So, if you're in the Boston area, free next Thursday and up for some fun (and most likely, knitting) at a local watering hole let me know!

Fun Friday distraction:

Public Radio Fan
I'm a whore for public radio. Fresh Air, This American Life, Wait! Wait!, and on and on, I love them all. This site is a fabulous resource for those long days in the office. Arm me with my RealPlayer and some Public Radio Fan and we're partying like it's 2005.

BTW - At our Village Books Knit Night last night Kris, sock knitter extraordinaire, assured me that the sock will fit. Yippy!

I also love Public Radio... we have a new non-classical music public radio station in Minnesota that I think is the most brilliant thing ever invented. (And the best knitting music ever!)

But, despite my love of (almost) all things Public Radio, I cannot stand This American Life... and I am still mourning the loss of Bob Edwards.

And I'm a March birthday, too, and I love birthdays, too, and have forever! Must be a girl thing. But I have to vote for Pipe Dreams, and I can't stand Car Talk, so why ever do I listen to it?

One of my sisters always gets our mom a half-birthday present! She gives it to her weeks ahead of time, too. And one of the kids' friends is fanatical about half-birthdays! I know yours will be wonderful!

i have birthweeks not just birthdays. and because my birthday is so close to christmas, i used to celebrate half-birthdays.
so, happy birthday. although i would love to celebrate your birthday with you, i think it would be awkward to meet you and elisa etc. for the first time during your birthday celebrating which should be about you and your birthday and not about meeting some crackpot blogger. not that i'm a crackpot blogger but i could be to you and then that would ruin your entire birthday celebrating and we dont' want that.

happy 6 more days until your birthday..

And I think we should convince Maryse that there will be no awkwardness in this group...

Thanks for posting the link to Public Radio Fan. I was getting tired of Live 365 and Accuradio, and trolling for podcasts is hard to do while looking over my shoulder to see if my boss is walking up behind me! Something I can just click and play is greatly appreciated.

Hey, I would have emailed you back, but couldn't find your address on your site. I didn't introduce myself in the store because I they don't know about the blog, and I try to keep quiet where I work and what I do. I like to keep those two worlds separate. Feel free to email me. Maybe I'll see you soon, you know where to find me!
